Hi,

Question....just starting to loose hair etc etc. wanting to get started on propecia.

The only thing is it needs to be perscribed in Australia not sure why this is!

What type of doctor do I see etc..........and what do I say to the Doctor, do I tell him I want to get onto propecia or listen to other suggestions he may have? an what sort of situation would the doctor not perscribe it.

There doesn't seem to be much info on Propecia in Australia and what to do about get started through perscription.

Thanks
Josh

PS would red bull increase hair loss? dont really drink it just curious!

I don't know about propecia in Australia. Many people get generic finasteride from online suppliers. I gets mine from the Indian drugmaker Cipla. Their facilities are FDA and WHO approved. Many sites online sell it. If you search google/yahoo for 'finpecia' or 'fincar' you should find some sites, though I think google may've stopped taking ads from online drug suppliers. Also don't know about Australian customs, if that could be a problem.

Your Doctor might not give you a script if he doesn't think your hairloss is too bad, if he thinks you're too young, or he may just have a bias against it.

He may suggest minoxidil, which ain't a bad idea. You can get a 4 month supply of generic 5% minoxidil off ebay for 25-35usd. It can be a hassle for some to apply 2 times daily though. If you find itching/flaking or slow drying is a problem with rogaine/generic minoxidil, you can get fast drying minoxidil from Dr.Lee at http://www.minoxidil.com, it costs more (50usd for 3 65ml bottles) but for many it's worth it. Non-US citizens don't have to pay the $20 consultation fee either.

Red Bull I just don't get at all. I tried the stuff once and thought it tasted horrible! I wouldn't care if it produced a good buzz, not worth it IMO. Doubt it would worsen hairloss.

Well.. I'm an aussie.

Simply the doctor, and say "i want some treatment", and he'll run a few bloodtests to see if you're not deficient in vitamins/minerals/blood cell count and what not, pop back in when the results are in, he'll say nothings wrong, and, say "i want some treatment", he'll go on about the possible treatments (which you already know) and the side effects (which you already know) just keep nodding your head, and you get a presciption!

BTW - please DO insist on getting Proscar! Cutting up the tablet is no problem with a table cutter (its like $7), just make sure you don't take more than a table every five days. The treatment will only cost you $200AUD a year!

on the redbull subject...
i have researched this very topic and got nothin although i have found data showin that redbull is extremely good for the heart because of its taurine which is an amino acid that lowers blood pressure, improves heart rate, prevents abnormal blood clotting,is an antioxidant and also helps regulate our blood sugar.Like i said i have found no data showin that red bull thins your hair.

I thought I heard red bull was made from bull testicles or something. Also I think I recall seeing a news program which said too much of it could be dangerous to your health. Like it may have contributed to some young peoples' death or something. Me not remember so good, oy!

Red bull was made in Thailand first before being made in Austria, which is where 90% of the world gets there red bull(that being from Austria).Red bull has like i said before Taurine in it which the name comes from the word taurus as in the bull.
Although it does not come from bull nuts, actually taurine is a natural accuring amino acid that the body actually makes on its own.The older you get the less taurine your body Can produce. Not only is the taurine in Red bull good for you the vitamins our as well if you read the back of the can it has 250% of your daily vitamin B12 intake in it(thats a sh*t load).
On Red bull being bad for you,its not.... the only instances where there have been deaths our reported after someone has combined it with Vodka or aother alcoholic drink.
Like i said before ive looked this stuff up before cause i like the drink and thought it was getting a bad rap.

That's nothing. Next time you are at the store take a look at some of those Dr. Phil vitamins and their ingredients. I can't remember whether it was B6 or B12 but one type of the vitamins had 16,667% of you Daily Value of one of the B vitamins.

Red Bull is great for mixed drinks too.
