Propecia & hair growth rate

I know it can help with the density/thickness of hair, but does Propecia also make hair (overall) grow any quicker?

Before my male pattern baldness kicked in, I used to to get my hair cut every 4-5 weeks - but now it's growing so slow that i only need to get it cut every 12+ weeks...

I used to absolutely hate going to the barbers so regularly - but now I do anything to be able to go more often!! I honestly believe because i'm going for longer periods without getting it cut, it's making my hair look even worse (i.e. damaged, brittle, wispy, wiry etc.)

I know taking Vitamin supplements can make hair grow faster - but (from what i have read) this can also make 'body hair' grow thicker & faster too - thats the last thing I want!!

Any info would be great...

Thanks,
Jared

i think propecia def makes it feel like your hair is growing slower, when i was taking it first 3 months felt like hair was not growing at all, then shaved head added msm 4000 mg a day and i feel it s been growing twice as fast . im not going to tell you to jump on msm but I do feel it makes you actually hair fiber thicker and grow faster then normal.

Does MSM have to be taken in large doses in order to achieve hair thickness?

i don't know about thickness. i've not heard that about MSM, I thought it just made your hair grow quicker. In that case, 1500mg was plenty for me.

oh and p.s.: propecia made no difference to my hair growth rate.
