Propecia seems to work

I have been on Propecia for 2 months and 1 week now (total of 9 weeks).

My current status:

-Currently an NW1 (But was definitely beginning to recede at temples and hairline)

Since beginning Propecia:

-Zero side effects
-Receding hairline has not progressed any further
-Seems like my hairline overall has strengthened somewhat

But here is the problem:

How do I know that I'm just naturally *not* balding? Or how do I know that Propecia is stopping my receding hairline? The only way to tell is to get off Propecia for a while and monitor my hairline, but that would be taking a risk.

My best bet is to just keep taking the medication and spending the money, I guess. Sucks, but at least my hair is staying put.

I would have to say that Propecia is doing its job, although it is still early. But I'm approaching the 3 month mark and so far things are great.

I've been on Propecia for exactly two months now and nothing has changed. My hair is still falling out. This is so discouraging. I went to the doctor today for a physical. Had blood drawn. Is it wrong to hope for some other serious BUT TREATABLE disease? Hair loss sucks.

Finished two bottles of finasteride. I'm on my third month now and I can say that my shedding has slowed down a bit. I had started losing major hair 1 month before starting finasteride. I was losing 60+ easily in the shower. And another 30+ while styling. Now i lost about 15-30 in the shower and 10-20 while styling. (Note* these are all rough estimates). Some days i shed more, and other days i barely shed.

I'm just gonna keep buying Propecia. It's worth the few hundred bucks per year to keep a full head of hair. My hairline isn't what it used to be, but if I comb my hair forward and out, my hair loss is 100% undetectable. So I am extremely greatful for that, and I honestly haven't been thinking about hairloss for quite some time now, whereas before taking Finasteride, my hairline was constantly on my mind and I was always looking in mirrors, examining other guys' hairlines, etc.

If Propecia really is doing the trick, then I started taking it right on time- I would have to say that the best thing to do is start taking it the instant you think you're losing hair- if you wait any longer, then you'll progress further into hairloss, which will take longer to reverse or stabilize.

Unfortunately this is the dilemna that everyone will face when having what they 'think' are results from Propecia- is it working or are we just naturally not losing any more hair? I see all kinds of guys at work who are in various stages of hairloss, but who have remained at their current state for 3 years without getting worse. So receding to an NW2 is doesn't mean male pattern baldness- guys can remain at this stage for years and years and years. But when guys suspect they are receding to an NW2, that is the time to start treatment.

Who knows.
