Propecia sexual side effects - Safe trial period?

My last post must have gotten eaten. In that post some said that even after stopping their sexual side effects didn't go away. Someone didn't start getting sexual side effects for 10 months - if your still here, How long until you stopped after the side effects started?

So, does anyone think that it would be safe to try it for 4 months and just stop if the side effects don't go away? Did anyone take it for only 4 months and NOT have the side effects go away after they stopped?

Thanks for your help all.

The point of the last thread, which apparently was deleted, was that there are always going to be some people who have reactions outside what is considered normal but what the FDA and manufacturer could deem "acceptable risk". This happens with every drug, including aspirin.

It doesn't mean that these cases should be ignored, but rather, put into proportion and perspective.

As always, I suggest reading and learning all sides of the equation before deciding. Although the overwhelming conclusions indicate that side effects are reversible upon ceasing the drug, there are people that will conclude otherwise.

Ask and answer - how important is it to improve my hairloss vs. what is my acceptable risk?

Side Effects Still With Me

Hey mgdpublic,

A strong word of caution. I was on Propecia for only 6 days when I starting experiencing watery semen and difficulty climaxing. I dropped it immediately and I am still having sexual problems 3 weeks later. The semen is no longer watery, which I suppose is a good sign, but I can almost not even get hard anymore. My ballsac also feels empty and sags like it's dead. I AM NOT IMAGINING THIS. I've never had any sexual disfunction in my life. There is no question in my mind that propecia did this to me. I hope to goodness that I can return to normal and perhaps be able to please a woman once again...
My advice is this--better to go bald than to ruin your sex life or maybe even your chances of having children. Who knows what this sh*t causes in the long-term? Try other products if you want, but propecia directly interferes with your body's natural hormone balance. For some people, it would seem, this doesn't cause trouble (at least for a while), but for others, like me, it can really be destructive.
In other words, don't take the sh*t. If you do, I'll tell you in advance--I TOLD YOU SO!

So, dude, have you been to an MD? If not, get yourself there and have your hormone levels checked. If that is not the cultprit, then sorry, but it may be all in your head.

Dont guess, get going!

Have I been to an MD?? I've been to 5 different ones in the last month, I'll have you know! I don't know who the hell you are, but the notion that my sexual dysfunction is 'all in my head' insults me beyond belief. Go back to using your brain to break boards, not adding your asinine comments to message boards.

Hey we are trying to help. What you have posted, has not been posted here before. How is what I am saying asinine. If you don't have a bio/hormone issue, how else would you explain your issues.

What did your homrone levels show?

And BTW-it is not smart to insult people who are trying to help you.
