hey guys have been on propecia for exactly 2 weeks and need some advice.

ive definitely lost some hair recently and amnt sure whether its a shed or just losing hair really quickly (i know uve heard this kindof story bear with me!!)

ive mainly lost hair 0.5cm behind the hairline right in the centre of the head. its gotten to the point where its pretty hard to conceal from close. it almost seems like theres a noticeably bigger gap here than newhere else. also, in the mid-scalp, on the left and right hand sides ive noticed more loss.

am really dreading what this may b, seeing as ive heard some people like shedmaster say in other posts that propecia sheds usually come after a longer time? could i b having one this early?

also, id like to know from people who had propecia sheds - how long after start of the shed did they c regrowth? also did regrowth occur from the point at the end or start of the shed.

realise i may b repeating myself somewhat but this is really important to me at the moment. thanks! much appreciated.

More important question for you;

Are you also using minoxidil and nizoral? If not, do that also.

not using minoxidil - thought i should try and c if propecia works 1st and was hoping bcos my main loss happened in last 6 months, more so last 3-4 months i could c good results. not sure about applying a topical twice a day too, and costs.

not on nizoral but am using other anti-dandruff shampoo the belgravia trichological centre told me to use for another 2 weeks, then onto the nizoral.

ne feedback v much welcomed!!

found this on hairsite.com ...

"Expected Timeline

What should you expect upon taking that first pill? Below is an example of a *worst case* scenario. As stated above most men never experience any of these side effects. Here's the good and the bad, in a nice convenient timeline:

Week 1-2: Possible increased sex drive, slightly oily skin, possible light zits, increased shedding (normal!)

Week 3-5: 4% of men may experience a slight decrease in sex drive

Week 6-?: Side effects dissipate, possible continued shedding until month 3 or 4

This is of course assuming you experience any in the first place. It is entirely dependant upon the person.

Month 3 or 4: Good Responders - You may see a stoppage in shedding
Slow Responders - Give it 6 months to a year.

Month 6 or 8: Good Responders - You may see additional regrowth.
Slow Responders - may take up to a year or may not see regrowth at all, just maintenance of hair count. "

this sound about right? if so, the 1-2 weeks exactly matches everything ive experienced.

also...

"What? I'm going to lose more?

One thing to note is that you may experience a "shedding" period during the first three months of treatment. This can be extremely maddening, but it is a sign that the treatment is working. One man said he shed for almost 3 months. Then, like a charm, the whole thing stopped. He saw 75 new hairs sprout along his hair line and his hair thickened right back up to where it was when he first started, only to stay that way for many many months down the road. This seems to be a common occurrence."

realistic? what do people think of hairsite.com ?
