Hi guys. So I'm sure this topic has been discussed many many times on this site, but since I'm new here, I haven't been around for those discussion and would like to bring it up. So what is the verdict on finasteride side effects? I knew I was going bald for a long time, but was too scared of side effects to get on finasteride until recently. I have been on it for about 6 months and haven't noticed any side effects at all, but I go online and hear all these horror stories and get worried. I don't trust Merk or any other big pharmaceutical company. In fact I don't trust ANY big corporation, as their goal is to maximize profit and not to worry about your health and well being. That being said, I do think that some of these horror stories are a bit exaggerated. I mean, some people talk about having their lives ruined after just a few days on the stuff, that just sounds silly. How can they really know if it was the drug or some other underlying reason that caused their lives to become miserable. Maybe they were suffering from some sort of placebo effect? I'm sure that some people do experience side effects, probably some even have permanent ones. However, I also hear about people, many on this site, who have great results and no side effects. Now don't go and give me that 2% experience side effect stuff, I can read that off the propecia website if I want. First of all, if Merck published those studies, I give it 0 credibility, and I don't completely trust the FDA either. So, please post your own experiences so we can gauge how the members of this site react to propecia. Obviously this will just be anecdotal and not a scientific study, but at least we'll know that most of the posters on here on not people trying to sell propecia, or people trying to bash propecia so they can sell their own snake oil.
