Propecia- Why 12 months?

Hey all,

I am wondering why it says to give Propecia 12 months to see if it works. I have completed 8 months, with absolutely no results...actually, I feel that my rate of hair loss is much worse during the period I am taking Propecia but since most people feel it can't make hair loss worse, then for argument's sake, let's say there was no change.

So, why should I expect results suddenly over the next 4 months considering there is no indication to this point that it will work...why should I keep spending the money? Personally, I think that since I have not seen any results to this point, it means I am a non-responder but I would like some insights from everyone.

Thanks.

It takes a long time for your hair follicles to respond to the treament, flat out. If you feel that your hairloss is worse now, I would re-eval at the 1 year mark. Did you take photos?

Thanks guys...yea, only using Propecia and no photos, sorry. I am still so 1990's as I don't have a digital camera.

I will re-eval at the end of month 9 and if I see no improvement, I will stop. No point in wasting $ and who knows what other harm is going on if I feel it ain't working. I still see no point to wait the additional 3 months to make it a year...if it ain't working after 9 months then I am skeptical that it will change within the next 3 months.

Thanks
