Proscar and joint pain

I was on Finasteride in 2006 for about a year and came off it in 2007 due to financial problems. I then resumed it in October 2007 switching to Proscar (quarters) in August 2008.

From about April 2007 I noticed progressive knee joint pain when walking up and down stairs which I put down to playing ice skating and ice hockey. I had physiotherapy from April 2008 to September 2008. The knee pain still persists so I'm going back to the physio.

I've also experienced pain in my right shoulder since September which I put down to bench pressing in the gym.

It's only now that I've started thinking that it could be the propecia/Proscar that might be causing the joint pain and, having Googled it, I've found there are others who are putting their joint pain down to the drug.

Is there anyone on here who's got similar reports?

I've just had an x-ray to find out what's really going on. The shoulder pain I've had since September is becoming worse even though I stopped going to gym 3 months ago.

Does anyone else have similar problems that they suspect could be a proscar/finasteride side effect?
