Hi there, I have started taking proscar for my hair loss, ive been cutting it into smaller pieces and so far this is what i took, 1.2~1.6 mg piece and then waited 3 days then another ~1.3 mg piece.

***** Gross descriptions *** sorry

My problem is, My stomach has been feeling weird lately and sometimes feel pain in the lower stomach which i usually feel when I ate something which doesnt go well with my stomach.

Now in the bathroom, Its somewhat harder to take a cra* ( not by much) and the cra* itself is kinda small, not your average thick and long feces.

Now I realize I have been on it for 6 days and haven't experienced any other side effects. Is the stomach issue something I should be really worried about? or is it possible that my stomach is just getting used to the drug and hopefully in a week or so it will be able to digest it properly?

Anyone with similar experiences?

Finasteride has not been shown to effect your digestive system in any way. Digestive issues are extremely common, and it's almost certainly unrelated to the drug. Stress is one of the most common causes of stomach issues, among about a million other things.

Could possibly the filler in the pill, just a hypothesis. Finasteride itself wouldn't cause digestive problems, it seems to me your partially constipated, if it continues, i.e trouble defecating, and the cramping gets really bad, then see a doctor ASAP as it could be a bowel obstruction, which can be very serious if left untreated. Most likely it's just a common case of constipation, drink plenty of fluids.

Good luck.

Hmm, Could it have anything to do with Ramadan, and the fact that I fast till 7 pm where I eat dinner and then eat a small snack at 3 am, and no water or food in the day other than 7pm-3am ?? I'm going to try and take a smaller dose and see how it goes.

I don't know if I have the same but I also experienced some weird stomach effects at the beggining. Il mean that I heard noise coming from my stomach the first months with a very little "pain" in the lower stomach.
I also have stopped Propecia for 1 week and then taking it again and this phenomenon came back.
I guess it's just the body adjusting to finasteride.

Propecia has lactose in it, so I am going to assume Proscar does, too.

Many people are lactose intolerant, despite not knowing it. As we get older we often lose the ability to digest lactose as we lose the enzyme.

Could be this, could be bread, could be milk, could be plasta, could be fizzy drinks, could be an infection, could be a bacterial imbalance etc etc etc... bowel issues can be caused by all kinds of thing.

However, if you observe Ramadan it could be related to this. The body likes regularity.
