I think joe32 is asking if the finasteride is equally distributed throughout the pill, so when you cut it into fourths, you're getting four pills at 1.25mg and not 1.5, 2, 1.0mg, and 0.5mg... or a worse off distribution.

It doesn't need to be proven. It would be impossible for it not to be evenly distributed simply based on the bulk process by which pills are manufactured....that is, a vat of the mixture being compressed into pill form over and over and over and over. If the finasteride were not evenly distributed in the mixture there could be no way to ensure that each pill contained 5 mg of finasteride.

Exactly. If it isn't distributed evenly throughout the pill then god help us all! Because if it isn't, then it almost certainly would not be evenly distributed between pills!
