I wonder why those Indian companies (Cipla, Dr Reddys, Ranbaxy) keep making duplicates of existing western drugs ????? They dont seem to invest much in R and D at all inspite of having one of the largest and most competent brain capital in the world. Agreed it helps to make cheaper versions of those drugs for the poor/less privileged people in that part but common guys put some more money into research !!! Logically, More research = Faster Cure = End of our Emotional Sufferings. If every country speeds up research it will only make the cure available faster.
Remember if the large pharmaceutical companies hadnt greedily over priced their drugs, they wouldnt have the problem of generic companies stealing their business. Charging £40 a month for 1 mg of Finasteride defies belief, but people (including me) will pay these prices. The same applies to drugs to treat cancer and AIDS. They can charge pretty much what they like because people
will pay these prices. Cipla have started to produce a generic form of a drug to treat aids, and supplies the governments of poor nations which until now were unable to afford treatment for their people. Cipla are a drug company with a soul. Cipla actually did a study showing 1mg of Finasteride effectiveness on frontal hair loss which I posted on this forum. Dont ever view Cipla and other generic drug manufacterers as the enemy.
