Hello.

I buy proscar online to keep hairloss at bay. I was getting it in a blue and yellow box and was working great. Since my last order the online store I used no longer carries the blue and yellow box version, but now sells the blue box version from Istanbul Turkey. Has anyone had experience with Turkish Proscar? What is your experience? Does it work? is it safe? The box does have MSD on it, so it looks like its made by Merck Sharp & Dohme. Thanks in advance for your information.

Dear MrThinhair, I'm also in the same boat. I've been using the Proscar brand named product in the white, blue and yellow box, however, IAS just recently discontinued that product. I purchased the same one you have in the blue box, but I share the same concern that you have about it being equal to the brand name version. Have you been able to find another on-line site that sells the brand-name version?

Thanks,

Clydro! I was using IAS also! I wish I knew which country the box we were using originated. I've been using the Turkish Proscar for about a month now, and it is different. I haven't had a huge shedding like I was expecting, however the diameter of my hair strands have shrunk. Something in the pill we were using must have helped transport the finasteride so my body used it better. I've called IAS to ask which country of origin the proscar they discontinued came from, and they wouldn't tell me. Unfortunately Proscar is made in many countries, so it would be hard to narrow it down without IAS telling us :( If you have any leads please let me know.

MrThinHair, I found an on-line pharmacy that seems to list the same product that IAS use to sell (https://www.inhousepharmacy.vu/p-556-proscar-5mg-itl.aspx). Same box color with Italian language. Correct pill count per pack (15), but the price is a little higher than what IAS used to sell it for. I just order one 15 pill pack. Had to use an E-check to buy it. Let me know if you find another source for the same product (and cheaper price). I sent IAS another email today to see if they would special order product we've been using. Maybe if you send them a similar email, they will see value in restocking it for us. Worth a shot.

Thank you for the link, Clydro. Please let me know what your experience is with the new Proscar. I will send IAS an email this week. I'd imagine they'd have to share the country of origin for medication they've sold for legal reasons.

I just ordered the 15 tab pack from InHousePharmacy as I'm just starting Finasteride. One pack of those should last approximately 75 days as the pills can easily be cut to 1/5th's. It will cost $0.736 a day to dose and about $22 a month if you dose 1mg a day throughout the whole month. I've seen cheaper alternatives online but it's hard to find as well, so this is a good deal and I hope it arrives quickly.

Best of luck to you all, thankfully I still have a head full of thick hair but have recently seen slight recession at my temples so I hope this could help me with slowing or stopping current recession and hair loss in the future. As for side effects, eating healthy, working out and doing PE should do the job ;)

It now appears that InHousePharmacy no longer carries the Proscar in the blue and yellow box version. Has anyone been able to find another site that sells this version?
