Proscar or Propecia

Which one should i go for, do they both give the same effects?? I know Proscar is cheaper.

Is finasteride basically propecia, proscar??

Yes, they are both the same except Proscar has a 5mg dose and is designed to help the prostate. Propecia is a 1mg and is used to fight hairloss. But they are the same thing.

Propecia is 1mg of finasteride

both are made by Merck in the same lab.

Propecia is more expensive, but you get to throw a single pill down your neck.

Proscar is cheaper, but you have to chop it into 5 bits, this hurculean task seems to baffle some people here, but is infact simple as....well chopping something into five bits.
