Proscar worse or better ??

There is a question thats been bugging me for a while now.
Is proscar (the 1.25 finasteride dose) AS good as propecia or are its effects worse ?? i have been searching the net for some statistics but couldn't find anything. I have the cash for propecia but i would like to keep some money in my pocket.

But I have another question please.

I read on another forum that Merck recently announced that finasteride is NOT evenly distributed throughout the proscar pill.

Does anyone knows if this true? od is just a lame tactic?

Firstly, 1.25mg of finasteride instead of 1mg should not make that much difference, either to your hair or to the side effects. However, it is a little bit more, so people who do get sides would get it easier with 1.25mg than with 1mg, but remember, those are just a small percentage of the users of finasteride. to be fair, with the residuals you're probably averaging 1.20mg a day with proscar. Considering how much cheaper it is to cut proscar into 4ths than buying propecia, it's certainly worth going on it.
Also, it might be the case that finasteride isn't equally spread in a Proscar pill, i don't know. but this really shouldn't be a problem due to finasteride's half life if you're taking it every day. certainly worth getting proscar! if u feel bad about not Merck money since they invented Propecia, just buy Merck Proscar like i do!
