Hello,

Switched from Propecia (1mg) to Proscar (5mg) today because of the cheaper cost. I am trying to cut the Proscar into 5th's but the tablet is too small. I guess what I am wonderding is how come the Propecia (1mg) and the Proscar (5mg) tablets are almost the same size? I was expecting the Proscar tablet to be bigger than the Propecia tablet. Thanks, Steve

Any advice on cutting the Proscar tablet into 5th's would be much appreciated.

Get an Exacto knife--- or something equally sharp.

Try chewing your Proscar to help increase absorbtion. :)

Thanks Aplunk1,

I really do appreciate it. That diagram certainly helps.

Just wondering, it appears that the Propecia (1mg) and the Proscar (5mg) tablets seem to be the same size. I just picked up Proscar (5mg) for the first time today and compared it to the Propecia (1mg) that I had. Are they supposed to be about the same size?

Thanks again, Steve

Yes--

most of Propecia is just filler.

Proscar contains 5mg, Propecia only contains 1mg, of finasteride.

The only difference in the dosage and appearance of the tablet.

I cut my proscar into four relatively equal pieces...easier to cut that way. No sides.
