I was thinking of coloring my hair this weekend to cover up some grey in the temple area. Does anyone recommend anything in particular? Something not too harsh that doesn't make your hair feel like crap?

This is an interesting thread that I may want to look at in the future so I'm giving it a free bump.

I wish more people got involved in this section of the forum.

I was talking to a friend that is 5 years older than me about hair loss. His hair is worse than mine, and I wanted to see what his experience was. He told me he colours his hair to cover the gray areas.

I was really surprised to hear that. I have lots of gray hair around the sides, nothing on top yet, and I think that sort of gives me a character. The first time I started graying, I was annoyed that my aging is becoming obvious but now I like it.

However, I would like to hear your experiences on hair colouring.

Redken Color Camo works well and conditions your hair as well. They say you should get it done in a salon but I've done it at home with no problems (you can pick the stuff up on ebay). Just make sure you get one shade lighter than you think you need.
