Question about Avodart

Due to the long 1/2 life of Avodart(somthing like 230 hours as opposed to propecia's 8 hours) is it possible to take then twice a week? so keep the dosage at .5 and take them twice a week instead of every day. I ask this because at 100 dollars for 30, theyare VERY expensive and my insurance does not cover them.

I was told be a doctor that it wouldbe just as effective, but if anyone has any other opinions on the whether it will be just as effective please let me know.

Yes, it is possible to take it less frequently, but it will take a longer time for you to maximize your reduction of DHT as opposed to, say, if you took 0.5 mg daily. The higher dose you take, the faster you will maximize your reduction of DHT. The lower (or less frequent) dose you take, the longer it will take for you to maximize the same reduction in DHT.

In the end, it shouldn't affect your hair loss situation that much. Starting gradually might be a little softer on your body as well.

The side effects from Avodart could be so severe your dick could fall off. It should have been approved for male pattern baldness a while ago but there is concern over longterm sides which makes Fina look like chickletts.

I've been using Avodart for over five months... No side-effects, but it certainly didn't slow my hairloss. I continue losing the same amount as I had been on Propecia for a year.
