question about existing hair growing back after buzz

I buzzed my head with a #1 guard early last week. I was surprised to see a horseshoe pattern because with my hair grown out I only have noticeable temple recession and a thinning crown. Now a week and a half later, the back of my head where the hair is thick is growing fast along with the front and sides but the top of my head is slow and the horseshoe is still apparent. Any advice and/or words of encouragement on when the thinning areas will catch up? I can't wait to get a regular haircut again and look back how I did before the buzz! Thanks for reading and for any replies!

i always buzz my hair and i have noticed over the past few months that my hair seems to be shorter all over the top than at the sides and back to. does this mean ur diffuse balding?

Sorry to hijack this a little but is a horseshoe pattern kind of when areas of your hair when shaved down remain pretty thick but say the front and centre are a bit more sparse?

I shaved down to a #2 at the weekend and have this effect and am now wondering whether to give it a week or so and then do the same but with a #2 on the top and a #1 on the sides and back to try and blend it in better? Would this make a difference? My photos are on another thread in this section with the buzz if that helps? :)

yes it will make a huge difference,i currently shave the sides on #1 and top on #2.it blends in fine, depending how thin you are you can probly shave #3 on top with #1 on sides

Thanks :)

So I take it that the patchiness on the top of my head and towards the back would be less apparent then? As it's grown out for a week now, it does seem a bit more noticable as the top isn't growing at the same rate as the back and sides, so the back certainly stands out a little more.
