question about fibres

hi all,

i have a question about the use of fibres. we all know we can sprinkle them on like were seasoning a salad, or we can use a pump. has anyone ever tried putting some into their hand and then mix it with hair gel? i would imagine that the fibres would stick to the hair, as opposed to falling onto the scalp. if youve read my rant about concealers, thats my big kerfuffle with the fibres, they color the scalp, and dont thicken the hair. so, anyone try it?

How exactly are you applying it?
Are you just holding the can upside down against your head?
If you sprinkle them from about 8" above your head and just let them fall down and settle on the hair I think they should attach to the hair itself.

Thats what I do and I dont use any form of hairspray afterwards but I've never had a problem with fibres not sticking to the hair.

I dont think that adding them to gel would work, the fibres need to disperse properly thats why letting them fall at least 8" from the canister to your head is neccesary.
Alternativly you could have a bad batch, I've had some that did'nt disperse because the fibres were clumped together. The fibres should come out extremley fine (mist like) finer than dust.

Actually I think they do both, some stick to the hair and some falls on the scalp.

Putting it in gel sounds about what that Kerasome lotion does. If you try the fibres in gel bit, let us know how it turns out, ok? You would probably have to be wasting a lot of it though, if it doesn't work right.

hi,

when i use toppik, i use that ball pump thing. i tried all kinds of ways and distances, but it seems that it does coloring the scalp more than attaching to the hair. the best test is to look at yourself from the side, then youll see if the hair is thick, or if its darker.

the batch looks ok to me. its really thin powder...

i ordered hair-tek. i read numerous times, that its alot better than toppik, because it does cling to the hair. but since its not a big brand product, it gets very little exposure. i will post results in my other thread once i tried it.
i also ordered the kerasome solution, but the morons sent me the powder. now given how most customer services especially here in germany work, i doubt i will be able to trade it, so i will just keep it and next month order it from someone else. then ill do the test with the fibres in the gel as opposed to the kerasome solution.

I tried Kerasome and it was horrible. If you are counting on the gel with the infused fibers you better have some pretty thick hair. I have had several hair transplants and so have some hair but this stuff was useless.

The fiber product similar to Toppik did not appear to be "charged" and did not stick to the hair follicle at all.

I went thru the instructions to return the product and get a refund. Never got an answer to my support emails and about 2 months later the package of product I tried to return came back to me.

I wouldnt recommend this one unless they have made some serious improvements over the past year.
