I'm 33 and I've had very slow and nonaggressive hair loss for years. It's finally at a point where I'd like to start doing something about it. It's diffuse and thinning asymmetrically, which is really what bothers me the most.
I've decided to start taking the meds and see how that goes for a year. I've read that it's mostly to halt progression, but it's not uncommon for some people to experience a small, but noticeable, amount of regrowth while they take the meds.
From what I can tell, a lot of people are put off by the side effects. The one that seems the most damning is the gynecomastia. If I took the meds and I was one of the rare people who had this effect, does it go away when I stop taking the pills? And if so, how long does it usually take?
Also, it seems like dutasteride is the superior product for hair loss. How come more people don't take that over finasteride?
