question about irritation and where minoxidil is applied

I am going to start using minoxidil at the turn of the new years, but my question is that I have notoriously dry skin and my crown often itches, so I use a heave conditioner to help quell the itch. My question is I am only planning on applying minoxidil on my temples because that is the place where I need it, would that at all affect other areas of my head as far as irritation is concerned due to the absorption of the minoxidil?

The minoxidil may spread a little bit but putting it on the tmples will not effect the crown. Most of the irritation is due to the ppg which pretty much stays put.
