I have read that miniaturisation is often a sign of hair loss, as the hairs get thinner before the fall out. However I am confused as to whether my miniaturisation indicates that. ATM I am about a norwood 3/2 depending which pictures on google images you believe. The "tuft" as in bit of hair at the front in the middle in between the receded temples area, is all shorter and also thinner (as in the individual strands are thinner in diameter). However this doesn't seem to match what you would expect, as hair is lost more at the temples than in the middle. I have no miniaturisation on top of my head.
I also have miniaturisation above my ears, and a good few cms into the hairline at the back of my head. So is the hair in some places on your head just naturally thinner?
