question about minoxidil

I want to start using minoxidil with propecia and Nizoral. Most people say, start on propecia and the Nizoral, then after 6 months add in the minoxidil. Is that correct? Also, what kind of minoxidil should I get? How should I apply it? Before I go to bed? And when I wake up? Thanks

That depends on many factors. First of all, how old are you? How long have you been experiencing hair loss and to what extent? I started with minoxidil because I wanted to avoide taking prescription drugs for hairloss. I also added in very soon Revivogen because of its claims to preventing DHT on the scalp. I also quickly added Biotin (2000 mcg) and Saw Palmetto (standardized 2 pills twice per day). I had good results with this for 6 months, then I decided to add in American Crew Revitalizing Spray with Copper Peptides, Fish Oil pills, Grape Seed Extract and Glucosomine for healthly joints. I also take a multi vitamin, and 1000 mg of Ester C. The last supplements are for health in general, but minoxidil, Revivogen and Biotin address the hair issue. Saw is a toss up but it does help the male prostate.

I also agree with haymes, before just jumping on the drugs, such as propecia/finasteride try topicals, such as spironolactone, Tricomin etc.. as there can be some pretty serious side effects with propecia/finasteride that you may not be aware of.

I have been using a minoxidil/Sprio/Nizoral regimen for about 3-4 months now and am pleased with the results.

I would say start on Nizoral, then depending on what you are trying to acheive, ie; regrowth or maintenaince, then we can decide on what path to take. minoxidil is only good if you need to regrow hairs.

Have a look on the pages of this site, lots of useful information that should give you the right answers.

Started some really noticable regrowth, my frontal has thickened, and my temples are starting to cover up, people have noticed and commented on how good my hair looks and feels lately, I cant put it directly down to the minoxidil, as I think the spironolactone has given it a good kick as well.

I'll get pictures next time I have my hair cut.

I'm 23 and I've been losing my hair slowly since I was about 20 or so. People started noticing around 21-22. Now I'm about a Norwood 2-3. I want regrowth and maintenence. I would be fairly happy if I got to keep what I got right now, with a little regrowth. I can't style my hair like once use to, which is sad, and I'm embarrassed when people are behind me because they can see the balding on my crown. My temples are really thin too, especially on my left side. I have really high peaks. Any more info?

Exstatic, I'm considering hitting a similar routine to yours. Just so I know I'm on the right track, where do you get your spironolactone 5% from?
