Question about Propecia shedding

Ok, so Im hoping to be prescribed propecia within the next week or so. Now Ive heard a bit about the shedding that is associated with it but Im a little confused about some things. Is it a kind of all over random shed? or is it more just shedding where you're going bald? Im receding, maybe thinning slightly in the front but I've already been on regaine for a few months and have seen a shed with that. So does that mean Im still going to get another shed regardless when I start propecia?

Im thinking about shaving my head while I see if the stuff works but Ive been growing my hair long and this might be my last chance - dont know what to do. :dunno:
