Question about Propecia

So I've been on propecia for about two months and all is going well. The only thing that worries me is what will happen if I accidentally get my wife pregnant while taking this? Should this be something I need to be extra cautious about?

Has Merck come out with something saying that Propecia doesn't pose any risks to women who may become pregnant? The reason I ask is because while on Propecia, I wasn't able to give bood. This was a few years ago when I tried. The reasoning i was given was that finasteride could pose a risk to women and children. Just inquiring. Thanks-[/img]

yeah, even finasteride though, i mean, all it takes it somehow something horrible to happen to one fetus, so i guess its worth it...

The reason you can't give blood is if for some reason yours is given to some pregnant woman and you're on finasteride, that could potentially affect the male fetus development.

Or your blood could be given to some underage boy who has not yet developed. That could affect him also.

yes i understand the reasons nathaniel. i just think that if they screen for it that the chances of it happening are very small. the benefits of all the extra blood in the supply outweigh the very tiny risk of that happening.

i used to sell blood plasma for beer money back in undergrad, and they never asked about finasteride

was not until my first year of grad school where i went to give blood and as they nurse quickly went through the list, i was like, hold on...
