1) Is this the combo everyone always talks about?

http://www.aveda.com/product/5245/1.../Pure-Abundance-Volumizing-Shampoo/index.tmpl

http://www.aveda.com/product/5245/1...ndance-Volumizing-Clay-Conditioner/index.tmpl

I found this thickening conditioner also on the Aveda site and wasn't sure which to go with:

http://www.aveda.com/products/spp/index.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CAT8419&PRODUCT_ID=PROD21057

Is the first set what I'm looking for?

2) Any of you guys experience negative side effects using any of the above products? Shedding, permanent hair loss, damage to the scalp, etc? I've heard not-so-good things about Nizoral and wanted to insure that I don't experience the same effects using this stuff.

3) Lastly, would it make sense to use the Aveda S+C alongside something like Jason Thin to Thick? Or is it an unnecessary combo? I read somewhere that Aveda is good for thickening and that Jason's is good for scalp health, but wanted to get some experienced opinions before I take the plunge for all three.

Thanks.

Yea', I'd seen that one, too, though I'm still not quite sure which one everyone buys. I'll run another search on here and see what I can come up with, but hopefully someone can chime in in the meantime with some confirmation.

As for Nizoral, well...I'd read a ton of posts about people shedding like crazy after having used the 2% version. Yea', I've the read positive reviews, but there are a lot of negative reviews, as well. So I guess my point was to try and stay away from strong products like that. I just want a "normal" S+C - no, "should be prescription level, but apparently Amazon doesn't give a **** and sells it 'OTC' anyway" type concoctions.

Side effects from a basic shampoo? Not to be a dick but if you're scared to use a product from Aveda (that doesn't even have a drug in it) or Nizoral you have zero options when it comes to treating hair loss.

To the person who asked about Invati:I know someone who is co-owner of a salon so I get to try out a lot of products. Used Invati for a few months, it's a quality shampoo/conditioner but doesn't do anything in regards to hair-loss/regrowth. Which is obvious because there aren't any proven ingredients in it to treat hair loss.

A quality shampoo/conditioner is a good for hair health and appearance, you just have to try different products to see which one fits your hair profile best.

I'm just in need of a thickening agent, actually. I also wanted to insure that 1) the stuff I posted above is what gets so highly praised on here and 2) that it didn't contain any frowned-upon ingredients that may have negative side effects (though in full disclosure, I didn't actually do any research for the listed ingredients) and finally 3) if it was a waste of money to add Thin to Thick to the regimen.

I honestly don't know anything about these high-end/expensive "thickening" shampoos (had no idea they were "basic" until I read your post) and simply thought I'd ask people who I'm sure know everything there is to know about them.

Anyway, have you tried the shampoo I linked to above? I wonder what the difference is between the Invati and the Pure Abundance. Any idea if one is preferred over the other or are they just two really good shampoos?
