When you traveled to turkey, from your personal experience, was there a safe in the hotel room to keep your money? My biggest concern is the large amount of $$ I will have on me, and will it be safe in the hotel room? I just ask this because it’s turkey and I’m slightly concerned that if someone did steal my $$ that works there, it would be hard to recover it. Also, Immediately post transplant, what kind of hat did you wear to walk around Istanbul, with the least harmful effect on grafts? These 2 questions i haven’t seen much discussion about so I’m very curious your guys experiences, thanks a bunch!

Do they only take cash over there? I doubt it.

I will add this, be careful with turkey clinics. There are some good ones but also really bad ones. Do your homework.

Ya I definitely did my research, going with dr demisroy. Very good feedback, and prob the top 4 to go to over there. And they do accept credit card, but it’s about 20% more with the different exchange rates.

I carried mine on me €2500.. the hotel and clinic were only a short walk.Nobody knows you have a wad of cash on you. I was given a loose black baseball cap, looked kinda silly with a big white bandage across the back of my head. Nx time it will be a fisherman’s hat and a hood lol

Back in 2013 I went with a Dr Kul in Turkey.. does all the work himself. €1 per gaft at the time. I had booked with a diff clinic this sept but postponed it until Jan.. Returning fromTurkey just came off the mandatory hotel list for me and I haven’t had my vaccine yet. Plus I feel in the winter months it will be easier to hide it and stay indoors lol
