I started minoxidil for 3 weeks and had to quit do to sides. I shed hair pretty quickly. How long will it take to get back to baseline? Does anyone have experience with this?

It is what is but I'm looking for a real answer not your dumb fear mongering
No fear mongering here buddy. EVERYONE on this site knows the consequence of stopping minoxidil, if you were a good responder.

IF your hair didn't respond to minoxidil, then no harm.
Like I said in my original post:

Yea but it's your smart *** response to it was the problem. I wanted someone with experience to respond to it. Not get the same answer I can read over and over. No crap you shouldn't stop but I had to.

You will likely continue to shed for a good while. Whilst your hair will eventually bounce back to where it would have been without minoxidil it takes time, and by that time you might have balded more than you think.

I would highly advise cutting down at first and slowly reducing the dose. Start with just once everyday and use less than the recommended amount. Hopefully this reduces your sides, then maybe drop it to once every two days, and then lower eventually quitting fully.

Many people claim minoxidil ruined there hair, I'm not sure if there's any truth to this but it scare me from ever wanting to stop, I don't get sides though.

Thanks for the response. Yea I started with just once a day to begin with. Did that for 2 weeks then the sides bothered me too much. Then went every other day for 2 weeks then stopped all together. I just hope to get back to baseline I'm a diffused thinner but still had a full think head of hair. I was just scared how bad it would get eventually. I should have just tried out finasteride probably.

I think you will be ok then. After the shedding stops you will go back to where you would have been without it. Look into other treatments though or you will lose it eventually anyway.
