Quitting Minoxidil: How To Minimize Incoming Shedding?

So I'm contemplating quitting minoxidil.

To those who had similar experiences, how do you deal with the incoming shedding? I understand that once you quit the shed will be inevitable. But is there anyway you can make it less sudden and dramatic?

Two things I can think of right now:

1. quitting it gradually by reducing and skipping doses, spacing dosing days etc.

2. go guns blazing on all other possible growth stimulants substitutes. The best bet seems to be adenosine, since it MIGHT have something in common with minoxidil in terms of its mechanism of action.

(for those of you who are interested, the reason why I wanna quit is that I just realized that minoxidil has been aging my face horribly. Plus my hairloss has become so aggressive it doesn't seem like minoxidil alone will work as it used to and save me solely and I realized that if you wanna look good shaved, that puffy saggy face is a disaster)

Also, for those of you who quit minoxidil due to facial aging, how long did you see improvement of your skin?

Advice and comments are welcomed:rolleyes:

Not really, sometimes more and sometimes less but I mostly stick to 1ml. And I've been using 2%. In the past several months I reduced my applications from twice daily to only once daily, nothing seems to have changed. I think it builds up in your body so in the long term it doesn't really matter how much you use.

mmm..maybe it's not the minoxidil.

i used for 1 year 2% and never experienced water retention.

than when i swith to %5 twice daily i build the puffy face.

it's very rarely notice water retention with 2% and only once daily !

i did see improvements in my skin after quitting min but what i read it takes several months to purge it out of your system...i don't know how true that is but it seems to be for me..i do my own prp on my face and i tried it on my scalp but i think it caused more harm to my scalp/hair...

min worked great for me in beginning for a few years. no shed lots of growth and density but lost some of its effect after long usage and my face looks bad - so i replaced it with finasteride - after 4 months or so on finasteride and being off min my skin improve but i was now getting shed but that went away and now i have a second shed around 7-8 months on finasteride i look horrible - hair density is lost by over 50% so i started using min again and my hair is coming back...im at a loss as min makes ur skin look like crap and finasteride might be causing accelerated hair lost AR or Telogen Effluvium.

I only use min every other day and let it sit for 4 hours and wash it out before i go to bed...don't want it all over pillows etc but now my skin looks lil more decrepit using min

https://www.gll-getalife.com/how-to-look-younger-what-ive-been-doing-that-actually-works <- this guy quit min and did other things and his skin definitely improved.

another thing...ppl on oral min, wouldn't they suffer more systematically on how min ages and bloats a person than topical min?
