Ran out of finasteride, sex drive through the roof

So I ran out of finasteride because I thought that I had one more packet of fincar left. Turns out I had already used it but the package was in such good condition it looked (from afar) that I never popped any of the pills out of it.

I've been off for a week waiting for my new batch. My scalp is itching a little but sometimes it does this while on finasteride anyway (it used to itch HORRIBLY pre-finasteride).

The other effect? My libido is killing me, I think it might be the highest it's ever been in my life. Pretty much consumes my every thought and moment of the day. Luckily I have extremely strong willpower on such matters, but this is crazy. It might be psychological (seeing a girl + the subconscious thought of being off finasteride should do something for me) but I'm not really sure.

While on finasteride my libido has been mostly normal...sometimes it seems a little lower, sometimes really high, and I haven't really worried about it as that happens normally regardless of finasteride.

Any exaggerated levels of sexual function, either way, can be indicative of future problems. Be careful

I do not have any bloodwork done. I have been on it since mid-May of 2010, so just over eight months.

I had ball ache on and off for about 3 months but then it subsided and I've been pretty much fine since then. Biggest benefits is my hair is thicker on top (not required to use Toppik anymore except a little tiny bit at the part/vertex) and no more insane itching on my head. Major shedding stopped.

Ok so here's the deal. The day after I posted this my libido seems to have calmed down to normal levels...it only lasted for a few days so things seem pretty normal. Everything works, no problems except some very slight on and off ball ache (less than when I started finasteride).

I haven't jumped back on yet. I've been using minoxidil (kirkland liquid) the past 2 months and had some initial shedding in the hairline but I'm starting to see REAL temple regrowth and thickening all over, my hair looks absolutely fantastic compared to 3 months ago. I'm pretty sure I saw some thickening with finasteride, but not on the hairline.

Should I immediately get back on finasteride? Should I wait it out a little bit? Start back taking .5 mg and see what happens? I'm a pretty resilient person physically and no history of medical problems myself or in my family so I'd really like to try taking it again. The side effects weren't serious enough to bother me and I'm not sure if it was serious really, at all.

Since stopping the only thing I've noticed is a little more itching on my head and hairline but there is all sorts of new growth starting to happen from minoxidil, I'm wondering if I should just live with that for a while before starting finasteride again or whatever.

Sorry for the long post. Advice please!

After about 4 months on finasteride (around a month after writing that post) it disappeared. I haven't felt it since then until a few days ago.
