Hi, I’m Harry and I’m 21 from Norethern Ireland. I have a progressively receding hairline since I was around 16/17. This has been a huge issue for my confidence growing up. Last year I took my first steps in tackling it.

I started using Regaine and ketocanozol shampoo. I used it for roughly 6 months. I noticed a pretty decent improvement in my hairline over this period of time but stoped due to Regaine being too expensive and tedious.

I can’t commit to using foam two times a day forever but I really badly want to save my hair as I believe it’s saveable for a decent price with medication or surgery. I will attach a photo ofwhen I started to used Regaine, what it was like when I stopped and what’s it’s like now.

I know minoxidil (Regaine) works but I need an oral solution in order to use it. If that’s not available I have considered oral finasteride which is far more cost effective that regaine.

I would love to know roughly how many grafts and how much a hair transplant would cost for my case as this is a long term solution I’m considering.

I started using on the 19th of June 2020 and stopped around 9th of October.

If anyone can give me a review and advise if I should use finasteride or just save up for a hair transplant then use finasteride or whatever is the best combo. P.s the black and white t shirt on is the end and the tied up ones are starting. Many thanks, Harry.

I think it depends on genetics. If you end up finishing your hair loss at a high norwood then a hair transplant won't help much. However, if hair loss stabilized at like norwood 3 or 4a or 5a then you could get a hair transplant to fix the problem with sufficient coverage. If not then your only solution is protecting your hair with finasteride / minoxidil.

So should I use finasteride and minoxidil now? Can I get oral minoxidil? If I can simply use finasteride and minoxidil as 2 pills a day that would honestly be perfectly fine for me forever or at least my youth.

Loniten is brand name minoxidil, I guess from Upjohn. What many of us have figured out is that the same medication in the pills is in the topical lotion. So by drizzling topical down our throats, i.e., drinking it, we can maximize our budgets without a prescription needed to just try out oral minoxidil so I did and Janey likes it!

I drizzle 25ml in the morning and then 25ml in the evening before bed which equates to 25mg daily which is as high as anyone should go really but I am just testing out the levels.
