Hi everyone. I'm 25 years old and trying to figure out if I have a receding hairline or if my hair is just naturally shaped a certain way. I'd really appreciate any help.
Genetics: My dad did not begin balding until his late 30s. My mother is over 50 and did not show any signs of it until recently (but they're subtle). I never met either of my biological grandfathers. My brother is 31 and is several stages into balding.
The Recent Suspicion: Right now, I'm not sure if I have a natural cowlick or receding hairline developing. Yesterday, I asked my girlfriend and she laughed. She said it's all in my head. My dad agreed and said he didn't see anything. My mom said she can't tell for sure but thinks it might be. My brother said he thinks it's receding but wouldn't have if I didn't say anything. Personally, I'm not as confident as them. It all started when I watched a video of myself. I will post several pictures and provide you with a good amount of information to try and be as informative as I can.
I'll begin by showing you 2 pictures of what my hair looked like about a year and a half ago, long before me noticing anything. You'll see that in the 2 pictures below, I have loads of hair gel in.

Here is the main picture of the hair (from about a week ago) that led me to think my hair could be receding. It looks like I what I might expect if it's receding, but then it does look like it's possible that it's a combination of how my hair grows and the way it was parted/spiked. Also, I didn't have the same amount of hair gel in, so that could account for why it might look different from the above pictures.

Here are 2 close-up pictures of my hair that I took about an hour ago. They are right after I got out of the shower so my hair is a bit wet.

From the 2 pictures above, there appears to be nothing observable, showing me that it only looked suspicious if I had my hair spiked/parted.
Here is another close-up and I've purposely lifted my hair up on both sides.
