Recent haircut. Feeling weird about it, thoughts?

Hi everyone. Been on finasteride for 3 years, I’m a diffuser and sometimes I wonder if I’m still thinning gradually. I recently got a haircut and I feel a bit insecure about it. My hair always looks childish after a haircut lol. Can I get some opinions? This is after a full day without styling it so it’s at its worst. Is it starting to look noticeable to the average person? Beyond nw2?

Mostly concerned with how my hairline and thinning looks. I’ve been dating someone for quite some time and she’s never mentioned that I’m thinning. I always wonder if she notices when I wake up or have a bad hair day and is just being nice by not say saying anything.

Thanks man. What about the receding/thinning? Do you think it’s starting to become noticeable to people?
No, I think you have exactly the same as mind. Nobody notice, when i say it, they act all weird. You see it under bright light right?

Nah, I know people have it worse and I know mine isn’t that bad. We all have bdd to some degree and I’m curious if mine if as bad as what I perceive. I figured with that amount scalp showing and my hairline, that maybe some people close to me might realize it’s slightly off.

I hate the guys that come on here with bo issues at all and blow it out of proportion so I’m trying not to do that.

Solid Nw2.All fine.
thanks, guess I’m maintaining my hairline then. I’ll attach a pic from three years ago and today. Finasteride really does hold onto your hair, recommend it for everyone. The indoor pic is from today, and the car pic is the old one

You can't be so sure it's all finasteride. You may be one of those people that is a very slow case. Your density is still great so it looks like you just formed a mature hairline and probably would slowly recede once you hit your 40's even if you were on nothing but the finasteride is your insurance policy. You have legit concern to want to treat your situation. I wouldn't really consider you having severe BDD issues. You are also smart and only come back here once in a while. Hairstyle looks great. Nobody would think twice you have an issue unless they are in this forum.

Dude It looks great. Better than mine

Today I got the worst haircut of my life and It's making me borderline suicidal. And this 5 months after the BEST cut of my life. I only get about 3 cuts per year due thinning. Since september 2019 I was keeping a "fringe" to make mop styling possible as I wanted to enjoy my frontal hair while I have It. Just trimmed It slightly as it's dying. Today the guy basically killed my frontal third as It won't really grow back. Overral a bad cut, It looks bad and made me look 15 years older.

Thanks for the perspective Doctor. My hair started going quick when I was freaking out on here a few years ago. As I’ve always said, pics don’t show the whole picture when it comes to thinning, and I got to watch slight crow thinning spread throughout the entire top of my head. Could feel the drastic weight difference of my fringe compared to 4 years ago. But maybe you’re right, hopefully it’s not as aggressive as I think. Great point about finasteride insurance, I’ve read somewhere that many people in Hollywood are on finasteride pre-meditatively before they show any signs of thinning. Considering I have no measurable side effects, and there’s no reported downside to finasteride (from my understanding) other than side effects, why not take it as an insurance?

From what you say, your hair seems solid and age appropriate too. It’s a shame that we spend years on this forum when our hair issues are relatively minimal. I think the anxiety comes from the guaranteed progressive nature of hair loss. Knowing that it will be worse every 10 years for the rest of your life can do some messed up things to the mental. When I feel anxious about it, I pop in here for some perspective. Thanks for acknowledging that I don’t over post, I’ve seen some of the crazy people in here and I can’t stand the guys that are obviously and constantly looking to quell their hair anxiety.

keep in mind we all think our hair is worse than it actually is. If you’re comfortable posting a pic, I’ll be honest about how it looks. How old are you?
