Ok I might just have made a big mistake.

I decided to buy generic stuff from http://www.qualitygenerics.com online

They say its generic proscar (finasteride) however its not like the old stuff I bought from them in the past which was manufactured by Cipla in India, the old pill was light blue and the one I have is red...

Look at it by yourself, is this stuff legit?

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF RED FINASTERIDE PILLS ? :freaked: :freaked2: :freaked2: :freaked2:

Didnt you see that show on NBC about fake drugs? I bet that stuff is fake. Turns out most drugs out of india contain mostly rock sediment and paint.

I believe you can take it to a pharmacy to test for the active ingredient(s).

There used to be a HUGE discussion a couple years back about RED finasteride.

No a pharmacist wont have a spectrum analyzer to tell whats in it. But a lab will, at 200$ a pop it wouldent be worth it.

wait until you get a headache and then take 2 - and see what happens.

If your headache goes away, it's ibuprofen.

If your nuts begin to ache - it's generic finasteride.

(kidding, obviously)

While the strip has some similarities to Cipla fincar, it is different even in the prints at the back.

Also have you noticed that the pills have a middle line to cut them??

I´ve never seen that, nor in proscar, nor in fincar. Why wouldn´t anyone would "officially" design the line for cutting if the normal dose is 5mg.??

But since the very quick and confident response you´ve got from the shop, I would take a second look.

Have you open a pill?? The colour of the coating shouldn´t be a worry...

But I don´t know how to be sure. I myself would ask for a new batch in another, more popular, online shop.

As one poster pointed out, you might have to take it to a lab to run tests. But I've heard from other posters that they've had pharmacies run tests for the active ingredients for somewhere around $50.

As far as the old thread goes, you'll have to search for it.

OK, I just sent an email to CIPLA, which is supposed
to be the manufacturer of those pills and I sent them
the pictures of the pills I have received from the online
vendor as well as a copy of the conversation I had with
them over 2 or 3 emails... :!: :freaked:

I'll keep you posted with CIPLA'S answer to this !

New UPDATE :

qualitygenerics.com never answered my request to have a full refund and they didn't even bother to proove me that their stuff was not counterfeit as I was saying.

Also, I sent an email to cipla as you know and I never got any reply from them...

Finally,
I ordered fincar from http://www.genhair.com and received it 5 days after, the stuff is legit, as it is exactly the same pills i have been taking for over one year now, the pills are light blue (NOT RED), they are labeled correctly, and they DO WORK on me. The customer service at genhair is awesome and you can track your order.

I'll recommend them, because as you know buying drugs over the internet is cheaper but sometime it can be a real pain...

anywayz !!! I'm ok for the next 9 months now! :freaked2:
