Regaine gives you dark circles? =/

My derm told me i should start using Regaine. I spoke to a friend of mine who went through a shedding phase, and he'd used it back then. He told me he got massive dark circles under his eyes, which still havent gone away.
Does that happen alot? Is it really worth it?

I don't really believe that it's permanent. I used Regaine 5% for 2 years and sure, I have dark circles under my eyes, but I can't tell, if they weren't there before or if they aren't from the lack of sleep. We're all self-critical and think we look ugly. Can you confirm that his under eye area looks appalling?
