Regarding Pre operation Lab tests.

My primary doctor is booked like for 1 month and I need him in order to get lab tests done at my local hospital. I wonder if there's any walk in clinic that I can get the needed pre op lab work done? I would like for atleast my insurance to pay for the lab tests. Thanks!

I just walked into a hospital. Had to pay for it myself though (i.e., I didn't even try to get my insurance company to pay for tests attributable to cosmetic surgery because those types of procedures aren't covered). Sorry.

IIRC, it cost about $160.00.

Edit: The nurse suggested I just have my insurance company billed and "see if they might miss what it was for and maybe it might be paid for".

I didn't follow her suggestion because my premiums don't include coverage for cosmetic surgery.

I live in a city and out here the hospitals usually need a referal but $160 is alot better than $275-300. THe insurance will cover it because I need it for my personal reason. Don't have to tell the doctor for what or do I?
