research and reasons for hair loss

the place i went for consult was hair club they sell products by name extreme therapy
they looked at my hair in microscope and said that i have generalizing thinning all over the scalp and im going to be bald in a few weeks;
the reason of hair loss is that dht a substance that blocks hair from getting its protein for growth so hair begins to shed .the more the dht the more hair loss will be they said rogaine does not stop hair loss and help minimal so they said that if i use their shampoo with has substance to make hair thick and pills that are amino acids to stop hair fall my hair will stop falling in a week i dont know if it is garuanteed they said if not they will give non surgical replacement of hair i dont know what that means mostly may be a wig the total cost is 1300 bugs.
have anyone tried this before ,will it affect pregnancy
does anyone know
im using rogaine 2% and iron supplement only
what is spirolactone will it affect pregnancy does anyone know yasmine what is that

Hi Rita,

Are you talking about Hair Club for Women? It is the same company as Hair Club for Men. Please do not believe their crap. Nothing you will do will make your hair immediately stop shedding. Just like some other poster said, it was a slow process to lose your hair (unless you have Alopecia Areata), and it will be a slow process regrowing or slowing it down.

As for thickening shampoos, you can just buy it from the supermarket. There is a brand called Thicker Fuller Hair for which I believe many people have used successfully. The only thing about these thickening shampoos is that you have to make sure that you switch it around every couple of days because it will cause build-up.

Amino acids are only part of a whole range of minerals, vitamins and supplements that will be helpful for slowing down the hair loss. http://www.heralopecia.com/articles/diet.php Please take a look at that link, there are some good suggestions.

About the non-surgical options, yes that is a wig. I hope HairLossTalk.com won't get mad but oh well, HLH's women's section is way too slow so I doubt you'll find any good advice but here, I found this thread pertaining to Hair Club, read through the WHOLE THREAD, especially the one posted on October 21, 2003.

From what I gather, they basically chop all your hair off, and glue a hairpiece onto your scalp which is first off, disgustingly unhealthy for your scalp and secondly, do you really want to pay that much money for that!? You might as well have fun and find a whole bunch of different kinds of cool wigs. Please don't be taken in by their scam, there is so much more you can do for much much less than $1300.

And honestly is your hair REALLY that bad that you will go bald within a week or two?
