so im only 18 and first saw my hairline recede about a year ago. now albeit ive ALWAYS had a pretty big widows peak looking back at childhood pictures and even my cousin at the age of 5 looks like his hair is receded when that is obviously not even possible so i thought it just ran in my family. my dad is bald but mothers grandfather had all his hair and her father also. but instead of just waiting around i ran out and bought nizoral thinking it was all i needed and honestly embarrassed to buy rogaine or anything:( i even talked to my mom about it and she said 'it happens to all men' and 'youre too young for all that' so its been a struggle. anyway i might be slightly in denial but heres pics i posted feb 13 and pics from tonight(apr 11) and it appears thicker all over? idk post your comments and criticism freely
note: my hair in pics tonight is only slightly longer than the feb pics, as i keep my hair the same length

i may also consider getting the rogaine based on what people say

From those pics you could have improved but it could also just be the thickening effect Nizoral has... Your hair is also a lot longer in the lat pictures so it is hard to recognise if you have actually improved.

To me it looks like noticeable improvement but seems strange to get that kind of improvement from Nizoral alone.. but either way I definitely think it looks better. Your hair isn't too bad, why not get on finasteride/min and get all your hair back?

mostly i just feel embarassed going out and buying it as bad as it sounds. i mean im only 18, poor, and it just doesnt feel right. but i think im going to get rogaine just for my temples this week and finasteride from inhouse within the next few months and just suck it up ya know? because theres some guys in my graduating class that look a lot worse than i do

It's kind of hard to know, plus I've only been on it 1 month. Ive been on minoxidil/nizoral for 3 months and I can tell something is working. Don't think I have any sides, a little flaking with the minoxidil sometimes.

im starting minoxidil today with the nizoral daily. luckily i wont be using alot just right on my temples. oddly, i was looking at pictures from EXACTLY a year ago (prom is coming up) and my hairline looks the exact same then as it does now and i didnt even notice it before about 6 months ago or so. idk if that means anything?
