Retrograde Ejaculation on Avodart--switch to finasteride?

Hey Guys, maybe you could help me out:

I've been battling hair loss since I was 19. I started on finasteride (proscar, split in 4ths) and used that for a number of years. If I recall, it worked pretty well. However, two years or so after that I freaked out and managed to convince my doctor to switch me to Avodart, every other day, which is what I've been on for at least the last 4 years. Hair wise, it's great. You can barely notice that I'm losing my hair whereas before you could see my scalp.

I'm only really suffering from one side effect (that I've noticed) and that's retrograde ejaculation, which means that when I ejaculate, I ejaculate less and it's watery. I have been experiencing this for at least the last two years.

My question is this: if I switch back to Propecia, will I experience the same sides as I am on Avodart?

The side effect is definitely tolerable. It doesn't change the quality of my orgasms, just the level of mess they produce. So my concern in switching, like that which got me into this mess, is vanity.

Thoughts?

There is no way I'm the only person suffering from this.

How about this question: Did anyone experience sides on Avodart that they didn't on finasteride and vise versa?

You might see an improvement on finasteride.

You might can try taking some supplements: zinc pincolate, l-arginine etc, but chances are they won't make a huge difference.

I know the feeling though...definitely feels way better when it isn't all watery and less quantity.

Have you maybe thought about coming off all 5 AR inhibitors just for one week or a month to make sure that everything is OK?

You are certainly not the only one to have experienced this side effects. My semen is watery and the quantity is pathetic - two years after quitting finasteride.

Everyone is different and reactions to these drugs vary a lot.

I've been taking finasteride for several years and I'm experiencing the same effect - watery semen.

Not really. Even if I quit Avodart today, it'll still be in my system months from now so it would be difficult to get a quality assessment. In the meantime, I'll start losing the hair I so proudly gained from it. I'm not too worried about permanent side effects, to be honest, so I don't feel the need to experiment like that and risk wrecking what I've tried to hard to gain.
