hello it has been quite a while since i last posted ,abot 2 years ago i used to post every day and was in deep depression, well i still am to a certain extent.
I am a 30 year old man who first noticed that he was receding about the age of 26,let me tell you this was like being hit by a train,my father has a norwood 1 and is 60,well it started with a little bit of recession norwood 2 but still had very thick hair, fast forward 4 and half years and i would say i am about a norwood 2.5 maybe approcing a 3 and have lost a lot of density on my head however because i started of with a very dense head of hair it still looks thick and i can gel it without it looking to bad,5 years ago i used to get a lot of attetion of females now although i am far from ugly (at least i hope not) i very rarely get glances like i used too,i must admit this is very hard for me but thats life.
i know i will be a norwood 5 in a few years so that thought keeps me up at night and to be honest as ruined my life,i will probably try to get some sort of transplant in the future, anyway hopefully things will get better for me in the future

Not to demean your situation but being a NW2.5 at 30 is actually not a bad outcome. It means your loss isn't all that aggressive, and you could benefit a lot from treatments.

Also, not sure if this is the case but a lot of times chicks stop giving you the eye just because you're older. I don't imagine all that many 30-year-old men get the looks they used to get in their early 20s.

I think you've still got a lot of options open to you.

Ah "the looks" from girls.

Im 21 and a NW2 and i dont get quite the same looks i got afew years ago. I got told last night that i was "still hot" by a female friend i hadnt seen since i was like 18. Not really sure what she ment by that but i immediately thought hair

It guts me so much beause i can only have my hair a certain way (6 on top, 2 on the sides) to hide the recession and i really wanna grow my hair out but it just looks wack with receding temples i.e cant swoosh it up or have a good fringe. When people say "hair frames your face" it really is true. A different hairstyle can really make a change to your looks.

Wow i sound vain. Just ticks me off that alot of us are suppose to be in 'our prime' and were hindered by male pattern baldness at a very sh*t age to have it. Without sounding like too much of an a**h** i would love to get more of these 'looks' from girls now, and not wait till when i get a hair transplant or jump on the HM plane in 3-5 years ; )

"still hot"

Dude all that means is that she thought you were hot when you were 18 and now seeing you she still thinks you are. :punk:

i have been on treatments since feb 2007.

feb 2007-jan 2008. i was on avodart 0.5 mg a day = hairloss continued to diffuse and recede slightly

april 2007 - july 2007. i tried 5% regaine liquid = never responded

aug 2007 - jan 2008. i was on 200mg of oral spironolactone, never helped and got slight gyno.

jan 2008 - to present day . 1mg of propecia

nov 2008 - may 2009 . 200mg of oral androcur (yes androcur)hair continued to worsen and my gyno was getting worse so i thought that nothing will work

nov 2009 - april 2010 - 25 mg of oral minoxidil -this made my hair feel strange and i did not respond at all.

i have consistenly been on finasteride since jan 2008,i think this may slow hairloss down a little at best

as you can see i have put a lot of effort into keeping my hair and nothing really has worked, iwill keep taking finasteride as i have to at least do something
