Revivogen - nightmare

Just had the daily tragedy of washing my hair and trying to make myself not look like a goon when styling.

Still shedding loads, and this has now thrown up a new nightmare. I'm noticing the Revivogen formula has kinda turned my scalp a shade of brown. I rub it in gently before going to bed but its impossible to do this perfectly. Now I seem to have the brown blotches on my scalp. Someone is going to notice this soon and i'm gonna be a laughing stock. Been on this stuff for four weeks now and i've gone from being a bit unhappy to being a nervous wreck who has just been prescribed anti-depressants.

I just don't know what to do - should I stop using this, but then I will have given up on a treatment and that is supposedly a criminal thing to do on here.

I'm trying to work up the courage to shave it all off, but I really think it won't suit me. Might get drunk tonight and do it and live with the consequences.

Got an old schoolmate's wedding next week and all my old pals have got great hair - I will be laughed at.

I'm 26 and i'm on a massive downward spiral

I'm quitting this Revivogen shampoo as well, contrary to a lot of people's views, it seems to make my hair dark and greasy, which makes my white scalp stand out more.

Sorry I waffled on there, I need to get things off my chest!

I've never tried Revivogen so I can't really comment on it. You might be allergic to one of its ingredients and hopefully the marks will go when you stop using it. You should see your doctor to have it checked out. Have you thought about trying Propecia? If you have side effects you can always quit or reduce your dosage. Propecia is the best product currently available so it is worth giving it a go.

Don't let your hairloss get you down though. I know that it's f*****g sh*t but at the end of the day there is no point in letting it get you down. I'm sure your mates will forget about it after a while and it will be no big deal to them.

hi monkey - Ive been a revivogen user for the last 9 months and I can quite honestly say that I have seen a marked reduction in the number of hairs falling off my head - the texture of my hair has gotten slightly thicker but overall I would say that Im roughly where I was when I started this treatment - I dont say that like its a bad thing - as I have a decent amount of hair albiet thin and a bit on the wispy side.

It would be useful to know what level of hairloss i.e. Norwood you are - I would say I am diffuse /early norwood 2. 6 months in to using revivogen I starting using spironolactone with it as well and this combo *seems) to be working

I have had definite regrowth in the hairline (nothing dramatic but then I have to remember hair regrowth is a slow process) by regrowth I mean terminal hairs not just the fluffy vellus ones

I haven't had the scalp discolouration you mention - perhaps you are allergic to the product as others have suggested

I notice this is the only thing you are using in your regimen - personally although i still beleive the product is doing me good I wouldnt be confident enough to use it on its own hence I use cu peptides for regrowth and as mentioned spironolactone as an anti androgen to compliment revivogens DHT inhibiting qualities

Im not claiming to know anymore then what Ive read on this site/ forums but if like me you are dead against using propecia then this is really they only way to go.

Like you hairloss pisses me off no end - just hope that this treatment stems the tide long enough until something else comes along.

Best of luck

Revivogen inflamed the heck out of my scalp, especially around the temples. I stopped it after nearly 8 months use or so. I shed constantly throughout the time I used it. I wish I would have stopped earlier---I was stupid.

I’m using Fluridil now which seems to be working---hardly anymore shedding and no inflammation or redness. However I think I’ll go with spironolactone next, because there seems to be more studies that prove it’s effectiveness.
