Rogain foam does NOT help temples or receeding hair lines!?

So why does it get recommended so often on here for that? I am about to start a course of foam, I am currently using the liquid. Its fair to say I have been steadily receeding whilst on minoxidil.

I am a month or so into finasteride too, so I am hoping maybe this will help recover some hair.

My main question is, do I stick to the liquid, do I go to foam, or do I buy some crazy 15% stuff?!?!

I've seen people on here who it's helped, although I think because the front is most sensitive to DHT, (it is usually the part that goes first) it's not as likely to work there as on the back. At least that's what the rogaine people imply. But there are many on here who is has worked on the front/ hairline. I personally am using foam, because it is easy to apply with short hair, I don't know about the others cos I've not used them.

Yes, Rogaine/minoxidil works on the front of your hairline and temples. The makers cannot state this because they only tested the crown area during clinical trials.

Foam is easier to apply, dries quicker and reportedly has better results than the other stuff. I use the foam.

Some people report shedding a little after starting minoxidil.

Ok thanks for the info. I am switching to foam at the end of this week.

Is there a knack to applying it?

it works on the front too, it was not tested in frontal section because the crown seems to response much better.

i usually put the can in the fridge for a few minutes then i turn it upside down and spray half a cap full into the actual cap, then just dip my finger in that and apply

although lately ive been wetting my hair and parting it into about three or four lines and squirting it all along the lines straight from the can

anyways its easy to use :)

Minoxidil is an antiypertensive - it lowers blood pressure.

It is in fact quite toxic stuff. But the more you put on, the more hair you grow...

Maybe it prevents hairloss? or slows it down? I've been using minoxidil for about 12 years now have had no results, though maybe it is slowing things down.

Ive been on foam for almost a year on my hairline and crown. My crown has improved alot. However the jury is still out on my hairline, i still cant decide if its worse or better. I think in all probability its a waste of time, but its worth a shot, you might be one of the lucky ones who respond to it on the hairline.

What alot of people dont realise is rogaine will not grow hair where you're already bald (unless you lost hair there within 3-4 months) any longer than that and the follicle is just dead and cannot be revived. You have to apply it where at least a few hairs remain or your efforts will most likely be in vain.

If the follicle is dead, nothing will help it.

As for 15% minoxidil, this is something I looked at myself. Couldn't help wondering, though, just how much of that 15% would actually be absorbed and how much would just be sitting on the top of the skin, doing nothing much.

I decided to go with minoxidil foam instead, as the Verofoam vehicle is supposed to be absorbed by the skin very well.
