Hi,

I've recenlty got hair transplant and I was wondering when or if I should start using Rogaine. If yes, should I apply it on all over my head or just on the areas which does not have transplanted hair? I hear that Rogaine causes some hair loss during the first 3 months. Is there a possibility of losing my transplanted hair permanently due to Rogaine use? And why do some doctors recommend using Rogaine after hair transplant? I know that transplanted hair will not be shed 'coz of DHT. So why bother with Rogaine?

Thank you

Start using it immediately after the transplant, 48-72 hrs. One study showed it hastens growth and may even prevent the usual shedding of the newly grafted hair.
