Rogaine Foam Application For Dummies

I'm the dummy.

At night, application is no big issue. I part my hair in horizontal rows, do about 5 pumps per row as directly onto the scalp as possible and rub it in, and after about 10 rows I'm done. Takes a while but that's okay.

In the morning, things get a little trickier. I have medium length hair and have to style it in a side part so my hair has to still be damp when I start styling. I apply the rogaine after towel drying, but my hair is still damp. Here's where the trouble starts. At night, since my hair is dry, I can feel the rogaine hitting it and am sure I'm targeting the scalp. At night, I'm at the mercy of my mirror. Since my hair is damp, I can't feel the foam hitting the scalp and am thus unsure of whether the darn stuff is getting where it's supposed to be (I use a 3-way mirror, but it's still hard to really tell where it's going). It's possible I'm just rubbing the foam into my hair (which is useless), or am just rubbing the wetness from the hair into my scalp (also useless). Might also be worth mentioning that when I do apply rogaine to my damp scalp, I can smell alchohol. Not sure what thats's about.

Anyhow, any help would be greaty appreciated.

Probably should also mention that my hair is fairly thick with minor thinning at the crown. I use the rogaine more for prevention than anything else.

Cheers!

Do you "spray" directly on the scalp and massage it in or do you put it on your hand first and then to the scalp? Both ways work but try the other way that you don't do.

I use way more than we are supposed to...I feel as long as you are rubbing it into the scalp and feeling a wet sensation on your scalp then it is on there. I would use the liquid but it is way too irritating to the point that it is not usable for me.
