Rogaine foam = hard hair??

I have been using foam about 1 month and would greatly appreciate input from others on 2 topics.

1. My hair is think on top and not 'gone' so I need to wear it kind of fluffy to make it look better. But the foam gets on the hair as I run it into scalp and then the thin hairs are clumpy and hard - which looks balder! I am trying to wet down the hair after I apply and rub out the excess foam but am sure I am negating the effects.

2. The instructs say 1/2 a capful but the TV commercial shows a guy [who btw has lots of hair] putting about a tennis ball size application in his hand. making me wonder how much to use.

Thanks

I probably use two capfuls per application. One for the hairline, and one for the crown area. This also depends on how much area you wanto to cover.

As far as the hair getting harder, I know exactly what you're talking about, but I don't think its a good idea to apply water there. The solution to my problem was to cut my hair shorter. If you can't/don't like doing this, then you probably need to change your styling.

what i do to avoid hard clumpy hair is just brush it straight back so it sticks up spikey as it dries. Then after a few min i brush it back down and it looks full and nice.

But i do the cesar cut. and the hair on top is just a little longer then the sides.

Yeah I know, but I can't help it. This stuff is so easy to apply compared to the greasy regular rogaine that I tend to over do it.

True, I overdo it a bit sometimes. Usually cause it dries so quick I forget how much Ive put in a certain area already lol

In the morning I style it with fingers, very soon after putting it in. Otherwise it dries like I am trying to look like the singer for Green Day.

As I have to push it through my hair from the bottom upwards I also find that it leaves my hair stiff and sets in an awkward direction, I try to flatten it with my cap during the day so that it's easier to work with in the evening, if I know I'm not going to be wearing my cap during the day then I use the foam as a styling product in the morning, making sure I cover the area but also style it in the right direction. I find myself using around 3/4 of a cap per application, only applying it to my frontal area (including hairline and temples).
