Rogaine Foam Side Effects

Hello,

I am using Roam Foam for one week now and I am having several side effects : chest pain, headaches.
I actually use much more than half a cup of foam on every application (let's say more than a full cap) because i'm also applying it on the temples and the frontside of the scalp.
Do you think that that might be the reason of side effects and that reducing the dosage would make the side effects go away?
Does anybody have the same side effects as me?

Thank you for your replies

Minoxidil was originally used for high blood pressure. So it can actually raise your heart rate. The sides that you are getting is probably because you're using too much of it. Try only using a half cap a day and see if that helps.

But the problem is that it's impossible to cover all the parts of the scalp I want with only half a cup...it's all going into my hair. i have a Norwood 1.5

How do you apply it...do you directly spray it on the scalp or on ur hand first?

I apply it as soon as I get out of the shower in the morning so my hair is damp still. I put it in my hand and take like half and rub it into the back and the other half on the rest of my scalp, then I rub it all in for 30 seconds or so. It's gonna get into your hair unless you spray the foam directly on your scalp, but that's kind of hard because you never know how much your using. Have you thought about Spectral DNC? It has a nozzle attachment to assure that it's going directly to the scalp.

so it's also ok the apply it on damp hair? because i apply it on really dry hair and i think that's why most of the foam is absorbed by hair.
What do you think?

For sure that's why your hair is absorbing the foam. I know the directions say to put it on when your hair is completely dry ,but from what I understand, it actually has more absorption in the scalp when the hair is damp. Maybe someone else can confirm that. Try putting it on right when you get out of the shower. You probably won't have to use as much.

You are exactly right. It is said that you absorb more when damp. So over applying then is like way to much Foam. But I am sure people put more and no problem. The sides of minoxidil only last half an hour after you apply.
