Rogaine heart pulpitations?

Here's the deal, I started Regaine less than two weeks ago. I have only been applying a very minimal amount 0.5ml max once a day -as I wanted to taper up to the full dose- and I have been getting heart palpitations and what feels like an irregular heart beat. Is it even possible to experience these side effects with such a low dose after this short period of time?? I don't usually get this sensation. I am wondering if there is anything else that could be causing it. The only other thing is that I have stopped smoking weed but that was well over three weeks ago.

Please help me, advice appreciated.

Yes I got it as well - and ended up going to hospital for the heart palpitations they became that bad.

I recommend getting of it now and trying finasteride as it is more effective.

i had same thing + swallen face and cheeks! i almost ended up at hospital too! stop taking it because it seems you are allergic to it! and talk with your doctor!

Oh man, that is so disappointing. I've been applying it during the day and getting the palpitations usually much later on at night? Is that normal? Why do you recommend seeing a doctor about it? It can't have done any significant damage, or can it have?

a fast heart beat itself is not a sign of allergy.
swollen neck, rash, and difficulty in breathing most definitely are tho.

fast heart beat is a sign that maybe too much minoxidil is being absorbed. i would either try putting less on, use a lower strength, place on total dry scalp only, and if this fails maybe cut frequency you place it on and slowly build up to let your system become accustomed to it. good luck.

Yes you will be fine - there will be no long term implications at all.

It may last another 2-3ish weeks. But then you will be fine.

I had the same issue and I was lucky to get past it. This post will totally seem as a scam just adverting a product, but I am not kidding around, I need to pass this on.

I started shedding right after I turned 30. So I got started on Rogaine. After a few days I experienced some heart pulpitations, strange awareness of heartbeat that kept me up all night, and some dizziness. I had to go to the emergency room once since I felt so bad.
My doctor asked me to switch to 2% but I still had the same reactions. Long story short, as I was struggling to stay on rogaine, I accidentally found a solution.

When I use "Nioxin Cleanser, System 1" on daily basis, all my rogaine side effects go away. My doctor cannot explain how this is happening, but asked me to continue with this routine as long I feel ok.
Now its been 1 year and I have gained good results with rogaine (knock on wood). I have to absolutely stick with that shampoo. if I don't shower for a couple of days the heart symptoms return.
I use the shampoo about 5 to 6 times a week and apply rogaine once at night (1ML)

I hope this helps someone who is as confused and desperate as I was....

Same side effects with me.
Have been 3 months on the recommended dosage of Kirkland Minoxidil 5%, 1ml x2/day, it causes in me heart pulpitations and too fast heart beat. I feel it especially when I lie down, gives me that feeling of pulsating neck, the lower my head is the more I feel it, also dizziness when I'm up, it seems to get worse with time.
Though I have no itching nor swelling so I don't think it is allergy. I am just switching to half the dose and will see.
