i was wondering if rogaine could possible cause shedding in areas in which it isn't applied. for example, i use foam on my temples along the hairline. i do put a bit in the front of my hair as well, but not as religiously.

i've been on finas. for almost eleven months and started foam about 2.5 months ago. after a lull i have been shedding a lot stringy, translucent hairs for a few weeks.

could rogaine have caused some of the shedding i am experiencing on top of my head? is this some sort of systemic effect?

No, only in areas you apply it. However if you apply a lot to your temples and then directly afterwards brush your hair it could get near your scalp.

But if not that then no, it cannot cause a shed somewhere that you didn't place the Rogaine.

That shed could possibly be propecia or just male pattern baldness Progressing.

I've heard that rogaine can cause hair to grow inches away from where it had been applied. I mean rogaine makes the hairs on my eyebrows grow like crazy and sometimes it does get absorbed into the blood...

hi guys,

so i started the foam along the hairline and temples coming up on three months ago. been on finasteride since last october. my crown is fine.

i have noticed some new fuzz along the hairline. however the entire frontal region has really seemed to thin out. as i noticed this i started applying foam on the top/front as well. i feel like this has started a sort of vicious cycle... the rogaine i used on the hairline caused a shed and the rogaine i used on the shed is causing even more shed. that's just my theory i suppose. i've been losing a lot of what seem like miniaturized hair.

i just want to make sure- minoxidil will only shed the hairs that were already predisposed to fall out one day anyway right? a little fuzz along the hairline to combat recession isn't worth it if i start losing scalp coverage.

anyway, here's to all these lost hairs coming back stronger & thicker. comments/tips?

take care boys

Did it really make your eyebrows thicker?
