Rogaine vs. Generic Minoxidil

Hello everyone,

Just a quick question. I have been using Rogaine for more than two years now. It's going ok for me. Although to this day I haven't been able to tell a difference between my natural hair and Rogaine hair. But I have noticed significant improvement in my hair since I started on the big 3.

I recently came across a generic Minixidil solution (by UP&UP - it's a Target brand):

http://www.target.com/Extra-Strength-Mi ... ombrowse=0

I'm wondering if I should give it a try since it's less than half the price of Rogaine. Will I notice anything different? Any side-effects? Will it be just as effective as Rogaine?

That's all I need to know. Please advise.

Thanks

Minoxidil is minoxidil.

The generic brands may have a different consistency, though. I just bought 6 months of Kirkland minoxidil for 17 bucks. Apparently it's more greasy than the Rogaine brand stuff, but for the price, I'll deal with it.
