Rogaine vs. minoxidil

I am aware minoxidil is an ingredient in Rogaine, but you can buy either one. Doctors will say for most hair loss patient Rogaine Foam is better option, but Rogaine is more expensive than minoxidil. Since either one has to be applied to scalp twice a day, I don't want to have to wait for any foam to settle like with Rogaine. What I want to something I can apply and go. Which is better in terms of convenience and price?

if you want something you can just put on and go, regaine/rogaine foam would be the better option. It dries alot quicker than normal minoxidil. Shame it's more expensive :'(

Foam is easier to apply, if you want to put butane and cancerogenic BHT on your head.

I don't have it in my hand, so correct me if those ingredients are not in Rogaine foam.
